Five Easy Ways to Cook With Polish Kielbasa
Polish kielbasa is an easy product to keep in the fridge. It is already smoked and fully cooked, so you only need to heat it and build the rest of the meal around it.
Here are five simple ways to use our Smoked Sausage "Kielbasa" and other smoked meats at home.
1. Kielbasa, Cabbage and Onion Skillet
Time: 25 minutes | Serves: 4
Slice one ring of Smoked Sausage "Kielbasa". Brown it in a large pan, then add one diced onion and half a head of finely shredded green cabbage.
Season with salt, black pepper and a pinch of caraway. Add a small splash of apple cider vinegar and cook until the cabbage is soft and lightly browned. Serve with dark bread and mustard.
2. Kielbasa and Potato Soup
Time: 40 minutes | Serves: 6
Brown sliced kielbasa in a pot, then add diced potatoes, chicken stock, a bay leaf, a few allspice berries and dried marjoram.
Simmer until the potatoes are tender. Finish each serving with a spoonful of sour cream. It is a straightforward, filling soup that works well for lunch or a rainy evening.
3. Peppery Sausage Pasta
Time: 20 minutes | Serves: 4
Cook penne or another short pasta. While it cooks, slice Galicyjska Peppery sausage and fry it until lightly browned.
Add garlic, cherry tomatoes and a handful of spinach. Toss with the drained pasta and a little pasta water. Finish with grated Parmesan and black pepper.
4. Kabanosy Snack Board
Time: 10 minutes | Serves: 2-4 as a snack

5. Kielbasa Fried Rice
Time: 15 minutes | Serves: 3-4
Use cold, day-old rice for the best result. Dice Smoked Sausage "Kielbasa" and fry it in a hot wok or pan with garlic, peas and scrambled egg.
Add the rice, season lightly with soy sauce and finish with a little sesame oil. The smoked sausage gives the dish more depth without needing many extra ingredients.
